The Laguna Beach Arts Alliance announces award-winning actress Joely Fisher will be the honored guest speaker at the 11th Annual Art Star Awards to be held on Sunday, April 2 at [seven-degrees] in Laguna Beach at 6 p.m. As the guest speaker, Joely will share stories about her successful and diverse career. During the event in true Academy Award style, awards in seven categories will be presented to organizations, businesses and individuals who shaped and contributed to the community’s arts and culture in Laguna Beach this last year.

Joely Fisher stands out as a star of television, musical theatre, and motion pictures. She is a Golden Globe nominated actress and former Miss Golden Globe. She is best known for her role on the historical sitcom Ellen and her 4 seasons as Brad Garrett’s saucy wife on the Fox hit ’Til Death and the Disney hit Inspector Gadget. She’s been on Broadway as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and in Grease as bad girl Rizzo. She has just embarked on a directing career and can currently be seen on ABC’s Last Man Standing as Wendy. Joely has a long list of film credits. She has several films due for release this year including Tribes of Palos Verdes opposite Jennifer Garner, By The Rivers Of Babylon and Nosferatu. Her television movies include the lead in NBC’s Thirst, Showtime’s, Jitters, and ABC’s Seduction in a Small Town and Cupid for Hallmark.

She recently thrilled audiences last winter as Carabosse in Lythgoe Family Panto’s Sleeping Beauty and her Winter Knight at Laguna Playhouse.  No matter how much the focus of her career seems to be acting, the underlying accompaniment throughout is her love of singing and performing. Joely was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Hollywood legends, actress Connie Stevens and singer Eddie Fisher. She performed with her mother and Bob Hope during the Persian Gulf War, which led to her performance for President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush at the Kennedy Center.

Joely has written, directed and performed multiple one-woman shows. In recent years, she has embarked on a directing career ranging in television shows, Sunset Fever, a black comedy short as commentary on reality television and the Hollywood family, to the socially conscious PSA campaigns for IFAW the International Fund for Animal Welfare and for Welcome.US, an organization started by Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg on Immigrant Heritage. This year will make her feature directorial debut with Oliver Storm. She hopes to continue on this path and give the world delicious and compelling stories and lead the pack of women who make change in the world.

Joely received her education at Boston’s Emerson College, majoring in musical theater and The Sorbonne University in Paris, majoring in French. She is married to cinematographer and director Christopher Duddy.  They have five children Cameron, Collin, Skylar Grace, True Harlow and adopted daughter Olivia “Luna.“

“No doubt, this is going to be a great evening,” remarked Art Stars Chairman Wayne Baglin. “What an incredible honor it is to have the multi-talented Joely Fisher as the keynote speaker at this year’s Art Star Awards.”
