Laguna Plein Air Painters Association
The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association was founded in 1996 by Saim Caglayan with the united efforts of Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain and John Cosby.
LPAPA enhances the visibility and livelihoods of its artists through the prestigious Plein Air Invitational and other programs. LPAPA provides professional development and business management education to its members. LPAPA enhances its mission through alliances with complementary arts organizations and provides mentoring and scholarships to emerging artists.
Members of LPAPA benefit from our many juried and award winning exhibits throughout the year including the Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational, Best of Plein Air Show, and Less Is More to name just a few. There are also scheduled lectures and special events planned specially for the membership. The Mentor/Paint Out Program where artists are encouraged to participate in a morning paint-out and have their work critiqued by a Board Member or a Signature Member/Mentor of LPAPA along with the Cyndee Van DeWalker & LPAPA Scholarship Program where artists/applicants striving to further develop their craft are encouraged to submit their work for consideration for scholarship awards are just two of our member benefits.
